If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the holiday will be observed the Friday before or the Monday after. Please refer to the school calendar for specific closure dates. Note that tuition will be due in full every month irrespective of school closures or holidays.


*We are making an exception for tuition payments during COVID-19 related closures. All tuition already paid for the period of closure due to COVID-19 will be credited towards future tuition payments.

Meet our Staff

Director: Berni Cruz

Ms. Berni Cruz is committed to what she does and goes through each day with a positive outlook. Working with children and creating memorable experiences with them is something she's always wanted to do. She received her teaching credentials from Foothill College and has been in the education field for over 7 years with a background in administration. She started as a preschool teacher, became passionate about what she does, and decided to take on a new role so she can make a difference in children's lives. She cannot imagine a life without working with children as they always brighten her day. Ms. Berni grew up in Newark, California and is currently residing in Fremont. She enjoys cycling, singing, watching movies, and trying all kinds of food. She believes that a child's imagination should never be limited. Her goal is to make this school a place where a child can be anything they want to be. Ms. Berni loves being a part of the L'Academy family.

Teacher: Michelle Li

Ms. Michelle has been working in the early childhood education field for about twenty years. She started her career teaching children from 2.5 to 4.5 years of age. She sang nursery rhymes with them, taught numbers and letters recognition, and assisted them with countless art projects. Everyday she reminds the children that anything is possible.Patience with the children is key as they learn new things. Ms. Michelle believes that children learn at different levels and it is our duty to be with them every step of the way. She is passionate to work with children and loves what she does. Ms. Michelle loves children and likes to be involved in their activities, encouraging them to keep going when they feel like giving up. Ms.Michelle finds interest in teaching singing, dancing, and hand-crafting projects with the children. Her favorite thing to do is being with the children every day.

Teacher: Angela Liu

Ms. Angela Liu graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy, majoring in acting and performance directing, as well as art. She was also a TV anchor. Ms. Angela likes to sing, dance, and perform during her free time. She has been studying in the Early Childhood Education field for many years. She is now a Chinese teacher and has over 7 years of experience working in Chinese immersion and bilingual preschools. She has worked the most with children between 2 to 6 years old. She is a passionate childhood educator and loves being with children. Ms. Angela is known to be very kind-hearted and can provide a stimulating play-based study environment for the children. She loves to promote self-help skills and empower the children to believe in themselves. She works with children in varying situations, including large groups, small groups, and individually. Ms. Angela loves children and hopes to make a great classroom experience for everyone.

Teacher: Ms.Crystal

Ms. Crystal Ochoa is fluent in Spanish and English.  She was born and raised in the Bay Area.  She has a twin sister and four younger siblings and enjoys taking long walks with her dog, baking, and arts & crafts. After receiving her AA in Liberal Studies from San Jose City College and a BA in Child Development from San Jose State University, her goal is to continue her studies and pursue a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.  She has worked with children of all ages and backgrounds for more than 9 years and is well-experienced with the Reggio Emilia approach. It is Ms. Crystal’s passion to be working and helping young children as she strongly believes that the best way to educate young children is to respond to their unique learning style and encourage their natural curiosity.  In her previous experience, she has learned valuable skills necessary to run a fun, safe, and effective classroom.  Ms. Crystal had the wonderful opportunity to support her staff as well as facilitate S.T.E.A.M activities, enrichment projects, and outdoor physical activities.  She understands the importance of working together as a team with children and their families in order to ensure the child’s success. Ms. Crystal is happy to be a part of the L’Academy team and looks forward to getting to know all the children and their families!
