Meet our Staff

Teacher Lisa Chunlan

Chunlan (Ms. Lisa) recently joined L’Academy in January 2023 as preschool teacher. She has 22 ECE units and loves to spend time with young children. She was drawn to early childhood classes because of her granddaughter. Ms Lisa sees special talents in every child. She wants every child to love coming to school and go home with new skills and big smiles.

Ms Lisa has raised 4 children of her own and 2 of her sister’s children. She is very proud that all her children are attending great colleges because she raised them to enjoy learning and be curious. Three of Ms Lisa's children were born in Venezuela when she spent 10 years there with her husband running a family business. She believes that exposing children to multiple languages early on in life has lasting benefits.

Outside of work, Ms Lisa is an excellent baker and loves to play with her granddaughter. She is also very talented in traditional Chinese painting. She would love to bring some elements of traditional Chinese painting into our classrooms.

Teacher: Hualing Xian

Ms. Ling has three years of experience working with children in a variety of settings, including nanny care and after-school programs. She has completed 12 units of Early Childhood Education curriculum and she is passionate about working and playing with children everyday. She loves helping them grow and learn from classroom experiences.

She is also fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. Additionally, she is the mother of four. The two most important things she learned from raising her own children are being patient and providing a positive learning environment.

During her free time, she loves gardening. Watching plants and children grow brings her great joy!

Teacher: Sulan

Ms Sulan was an elementary school teacher for more than 20 years in China teaching 1st to 3rd graders. She really loves the infant and toddler age and had worked at Little Sprouts Academy as an infant/toddler teacher before finding L’Academy. Ms Sulan has taken 6 Early Childhood units in the US and continues her studies in ECE whenever she finds time.

Outside of work, Ms Sulan helps her high-school son with his studies. On the weekends, Ms Sulan enjoys exploring the Bay Area with her husband and son. She also loves to cook and clean.
