L’Academy Preschool at Santa Cruz CA offers affordable infant  daycare as well as preschool programs for toddlers to kindergarten age children.

If a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the holiday will be observed the Friday before or the Monday after. Please refer to the school calendar for specific closure dates. Note that tuition will be due in full every month irrespective of school closures or holidays.*

*We are making an exception for tuition payments during COVID-19 related closures. All tuition already paid for the period of closure for 5 days or more due to COVID-19 will be credited towards future tuition payments. Please ask your Center Director regarding this policy.

Meet our Staff

Director: Karen Nolan

Ms. Karen was born and raised in Los Angeles, and in her spare time, she likes to read and collects children’s books. She also enjoys drinking tea and spending time with her husband and fur baby Harley. Karen has been a preschool teacher and a coach supporting the quality improvement of preschool programs in Monterey County since 2012. Karen is a bilingual educator who holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Child & Family Development and a master’s degree in Human Development. She is a life long learner who is passionate about supporting children, parents, and educators.

Teacher: Andrea Rocha

Ms. Andrea received her associates degree from Cabrillo College and has been working with preschool children since 2007. She is married and has a ten year old daughter and twin six year olds! Andrea is a very creative & happy person who brings her positive attitude to our school every day!

Her favorite part of working with children is to be able to see their individual growth and development. She likes to implement creative activities, stimulating their cognitive, social emotional, and physical development.

She looks forward to meeting your child and wants you to know that this year is going to be the best year ever!

Substitute Teacher: Kaitlin Tannyhill

Miss. Kaitlin (Kaitie) is starting her second year of teaching preschoolers and infants. She is an animal lover and yogi with a Bachelor's in Business Management Economics. She is a vegetarian who loves food and cooking. In her spare time she enjoys writing, singing, and playing songs on her ukulele. Miss Kaitie possess a true passion for working with children and showing them support so they can grow and enjoy learning through play.

Teacher: Natalie Gutierrez

Ms. Natalie has 10 + years of experience working with infants and preschoolers. She has completed 3 ECE units and is looking to enroll in the near future to complete the necessary units and become a preschool teacher. Natalie is a mom to a 15 month old little girl. In her spare time Ms Natalie likes to spend time with her family, watch movies, and relax. She is excited to be a part of L'Academy and looks forward to many years serving the children who attend.

Teacher: Corina Hernandez

Ms. Corina Hernandez was born and raised in Watsonville. She earned her Associate Degree in Science from Cabrillo College in 2017 with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development. She also holds certificates in Communications, Admissions, and Early Child Development with various honorable mentions in all courses taken. Ms. Corina likes to spend her time reading and brushing up on Early Education practices and strategies to incorporate them into her teaching. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her parents, three younger brothers , and a sister. Ms. Corina enjoys going to the beach, taking road trips and is very passionate about Early Childhood Education.

Teacher: Karina Hernandez

Ms. Karina Hernandez was born and raised in Santa Cruz. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Communication studies from San Jose State University. Ms. Karina studied early childhood education at Cabrillo College and worked as a childhood specialist at the Children’s Center. She has been working with children, ages 0-7 for the last 8 years. Ms Karina is a fun and loving teacher who easily connects with all children. Currently she is working in the main preschool room and offers great learning environment with a balanced combination of structure and play based learning. Ms. Karina is very family oriented, she is a mommy to a fur baby, Milo.

Teacher Eunice Reyes-Rameno

Ms. Eunice was born and raised in Mexico until she was 12 years old. She has 39 Early Childhood Education Units from Cabrillo College. She is married and has three children. In her spare time, Ms. Eunice enjoys dancing, music, and traveling with her family. Miss Eunice has a natural skill for making connections with children.  Ms. Eunice enjoys implementing creative experiences for children and nurturing their growth and development.
