Now Enrolling – L’Academy Daycare and Preschool in SOMA, San Francisco, CA

Located in the heart of San Francisco’s SOMA district, L’Academy Preschool offers affordable infant daycare and preschool programs for toddlers through Pre-K. We proudly serve children from 5 months to 6 years old, supporting families with full-time, dependable care.

At L’Academy, we uncover each child’s unique cognitive potential through a Mandarin bilingual immersion curriculum, paired with a nurturing, play-based learning environment. Our mission is to support every child’s growth mindfully, with love, compassion, and cultural connection.

Our SOMA center features:

  • Mandarin Immersion program
  • Programs for infants through Pre-K age
  • A warm, multilingual teaching staff committed to individualized learning
  • A curriculum designed to promote early literacy, social-emotional skills, and language development

We offer a year-round full-time program with fewer than 20 school closure days per year, providing reliable, flexible care for working families.

Meet our Staff

Director: Jennifer Knappick

Ms. Jennifer was born and raised in San Francisco, Ca. She attended City College of SF majoring in Child Development. She has been working in the Childcare field since she graduated from High School. Ms. Jennifer started off as a Resource Teacher, moving up to a Teacher, Lead Teacher, Education Coordinator, Business Manager, and now Director. She is very excited to be joining the L'Academy team. Ms. Jennifer is passionate about making each child feel supported, excited, and safe each day. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 16-year-old son, her family, and friends. She is a big sports fan and also enjoys exploring the bay area finding new fun activities.

Teacher: Yvonne Ma

Ms. Yvonne is currently working toward her degree in Early Childhood Education at City College of San Francisco. She is passionate about working with children and encouraging their growth by providing positive experiences in early childhood.  Yvonne enjoys the energy and excitement she gets from interactions with children.

In her spare time, Ms. Yvonne enjoys shopping and exploring.

Teacher: Sansan Wu

Ms. Sansan was born and raised in the countryside of Guangdong, China. She is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. Her father was a well-respected school teacher in their hometown. She enjoyed working with children and after he father retired, Ms. Sansan decided to follow his footsteps and become a preschool teacher. She loves nature, storytelling, music and exercising. Ms. Sansan believes that physical movement is very important for child's development, that it helps strengthening the body, but it is also very important for the development of their brain and nervous system.

Teacher: Jihuan Han (Jane)

Ms. Jane was was born and raised in Beijing. She studied Economics and Management at the Capital University of Economics and Business, and have been engaged in financial work since graduation. In 2015, Ms. Jane decided to relocate to San Francisco. She took a course in Early Childhood Education at the City College and since then have working in different early childhood education institutions. She loves her job, but especially reading and singing to children. In her spare time she loves to read and learn about different cultures.
