Director: Sara Garcia
Ms. Sara is an SF native that has been working for over 17 years in the childcare field. She has worked in a variety of roles from teacher assistant to lead, and then gained experience as a supervisor/education leader, now Director. She attended City College of San Francisco gaining credentials in ECE, and majors in Child Development and Behavioral Science. She is so excited to work with the L'Academy Nob Hill Team.
Her favorite aspect of working in childcare is working with the children and families, providing support, and building relationships. She also enjoys motivating teachers to develop their ideas/ goals and helping them build knowledge of support and guidance for children.
During her free time, Ms. Sara enjoys spending time with her friends and family while on outdoor adventures or attending sporting events.
Teacher: Ivy Huang
Ms. Ivy Huang works in our infant classroom and has experience working with preschoolers too. She has taken many courses in Child Development at City College of San Francisco to further her learning. She can speak also several languages like Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish and English. She likes to communicate with children and help them understand learning and how to discover their capabilities.
She is also very patient with children and has raised a daughter of her own. Ms. Ivy hopes to interact with our students and be there for guidance and building relationships with their families. During her free time Ivy enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her family, and exploring nature.
Prechool Lead Teacher: Mimi Huang
Ms. Mimi Huang, now a preschool teacher at L’Academy, has experience working with children in China and the U.S. Since immigrating to San Francisco in 2021, she has continued her career in early childhood education. Known for her cheerful personality, she understands how children learn and nurtures their creativity. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, music, and reading, especially about children’s psychology, which she hopes to study further to better support her students.
Teacher: Aida Castillo
Ms. Aida Castillo was born and raised in Oakland, CA, and holds a degree in Human Development. She is currently expanding her knowledge of Early Childhood Education through hands-on work with preschoolers and by attending online ECE courses. Ms. Aida also has experience working with elementary students and in Special Education classrooms. She sought a place closer to home where her daughter might also attend, and found L'Academy.
Ms. Aida is most excited about discovering new approaches to working with children, watching her daughter grow, and learning new languages.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, taking walks, and playing with her daughter. Some of Ms. Aida's favorite childhood books include Dr. Seuss' stories and the Clifford series.
Lead Young Preschool Teacher: Kelly
Ms. Kelly has over two years of experience working with young children in daycare and preschool. She also has taken courses in Early Childhood Education and is continuing her studies to earn more certificates and expand her knowledge in the field. Ms. Kelly is very passionate about working with children and believes that every child has their own way of learning. She strives to create a safe and engaging environment where children can explore freely, build confidence, develop social skills, and enjoy learning. She looks forward to guiding and supporting each child and helping them grow in a loving and nurturing space.
